The Smashing Pumpkins captured the rock world’s attention with their bold and assertive synthesis of heavy fuzzed out riffs and straight-up goth rock grooves with a dose of dreamy psychedelia. Led by singer, guitar player, and songwriter Billy Corgan, the band is one of the primary acts to usher alternative rock into the mainstream.
